Graduate Students
The Anderson Lab is currently full, but Dr. Anderson might be taking a new MS student through our Environmental Sciences Program in August 2025. At this time, we have no dedicated funding for graduate research assistantships so all students in the lab are supported on university teaching assistantships.

If you have looked through this website and your research interests align with the general themes of our lab, we encourage you to email Dr. Anderson. In your email, please include:
-
A summary of your academic background, relevant experience, and research interests
-
CV
-
Please have 3 references ready for future contact from Dr. Anderson.
Undergraduates
Undergraduate students at FAU are always needed in the lab! The Anderson Lab is based out of the FAU Davie campus so students must either attend FAU at Davie or be willing and able to drive to campus for lab work.
--We are maintaining two populations of birds in the lab currently- Sparrows and Finches. Daily care and husbandry of the birds in each population is required and undergrads do the bulk of this work.
--Students can also be involved in bird song analysis projects.
--During the field season (March-July), undergraduate students can go into the field with the graduate students and Dr. Anderson to collect data. This requires being comfortable outdoors, long hours trudging through nature in the Florida summer heat and humidity, and patience!
--Undergraduate students can earn Directed Independent Research credits for the work they do with us.
--Students can also apply for the Honors Research Pathway Program: https://biology.fau.edu/academics/undergraduate/biologyhonorsprogram-research.php

If you are interested in joining the lab, please email Dr. Anderson.
